dinner meeting will be Thursday September 25th at the Community Center. Lion
District Governor Bud will be the guest speaker.
At
Thursday’s Board of Directors meeting the following business took place.
Lion Treasurer Dell presented the following financial report:
Administrative Account Balance…. $1190.45
Activities Account Balance…………$10554.90
No
Bills were presented for payment.
The
Board approved a request to provide $350 to a GHS student to attend a Lions
Leadership Conference in Richmond. This individual will be asked to speak to
the membership about this experience.
The
Board approved $250 for the Lions Cheerleaders.
The
Fall Conference will be held in Roanoke on October 17-18. Lions interested in
attending must let Secretary Al know by our September 25th
meeting.
Lion Vernon will be manning a membership table at the RSVP Senior
Expo on Oct 24th.
The
Board approved a Member at Large extension for Lion Howard.
Our
White Cane project will be taking place on October 3 and 4. Lion Curtis will be
leading this effort.
Lion President Steve reported that the Eye Screening
at 3 area schools will take place on November
10-11-12.
Secretary Al reported to the Board the membership survey results
concerning women joining our club. The spectrum of discussion ranged from it is
right and necessary to it will change the culture of the club and take all the
fun out of it.A motion was made and approved, that at
our September 25th membership meeting President Steve will
present survey results and that the club will make available open memberships
to women and family’s.
Three
Eye Examination requests were approved by the Board.
