At Thursday’s Board of Directors meeting the following business took place.

Lion Treasurer Dell presented the following financial report:

Administrative Account Balance…. $2183.42

Activities Account Balance…………$6410.54

The following bill was approved for payment;

Lions of Virginia for $800.00 (dues) and 3 meals for Zone Meeting.

The following business was discussed and/or approved.

Lion Charlie reported Lion Bill Hadden will not be able to attend the Christmas Shopping Tour due to a prior commitment. Also, CST has collected $2630.00 to date. Efforts will continue to raise the additional $4000.00. To cover this project. Lion Doug reported he has received 42 applications from Macy and Eastern Elementary Schools.

The Board approved two contributions to the Carilion’s Love Light Tree in memory of Lions Harold Chaffin and Jim Hutsenpillar.

Lion Brad Jones was granted Affiliate Membership status effective January 2009.

Two (2) Eye Examination Application requests were approved.

Eye Screening at 3 area school was completed with approximately 400 students screened. Well done Lions Steve, Dell, Pat, Al, Buddy, Pete and Al.
